Hi, I cloned the hard drive from my laptop onto an SSD but the laptop does not find the SSD in the BIOS. I've had a look through the BIOS settings and ran the diagnostics but no success.

The SSD is an OCZ 128GB Vertex 4 SATA III

Can anyone please help?

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

As per the Service Guide: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03593041 the Notebook supports only SATA Hard drives and not SSD Hard drives

Thank you

The SSD is SATA so it must be something else preventing it being recognised.

Anyone know the latest BIOS version that my laptop can handle - the hp website doesn't list any. It's a Pavilion G6-2212sa and currently has BIOS version Insyde F.14.

Also, there are methods using various key presses on the web to get advanced BIOS settings to show but none have worked so far with my laptop.

I've flashed the BIOS from F.14 to F.26 but no change.

This thread reckons it's the cable but I'm unsure where to get a replacement that will be different to the one that came with the laptop.

If the issue persists after the BIOS update it might be an issue with the cable as mentioned in the Thread

Update:

The p/n of the cable that came with the laptop is DD0R33HD010.

I got a cheap cable (DD0U36HD000) off ebay which fits but still doesn't work.

I can't keep throwing money at it, time to give in and put up with the HDD.
