Probook x360 g2 EE
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have had my ProBook for over a year with 125GB SSD for my university. I need to upgrade the memory and wanted to know if my laptop's SSD will have to replaced or can I add an additional SSD on top of my existing one.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

No, to upgrade you will need to replace the 128 GB M2 SATA3 SSD with a higher capacity M2 SATA3 SSD. So you could insert a 1TB or more SSD.

Examples:

https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/probook-x360-11-g2-ee#ssd

On page 30 of service manual you can see the steps to install the SSD

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05559270

You can then reinstall the OS

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

and get your drivers from here

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-probook-x360-11-g2-ee-notebook-pc/15441158

You could also clone the old SSD to the new one, but you will need an M2 to USB adapter

Example

https://www.amazon.com/QNINE-Adapter-Needed-Converter-Reader/dp/B074GQTSBR/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywo...

Hope it helps,

David
