I have HP ELITEBOOK 840 G3 .
I want to purchase { Samsung 860 EVO 500 GB SATA M.2 Internal SSD }
I want to know whether these SSD is compatible with my laptop ?
How much size of M.2 SATA SSD i can add in my laptop, Please specify in GB(Gigabyte) ?
Or if Not , What specifications should I note while buying M.2 SATA Mini ssd card..

Page 2 of the manual says the series supports single storage pre-installed:
SSDs: (not available on the mobile workstation)
● M.2 (2280) 512 GB SATA-3 TLC
● M.2 (2280) 256 GB PCIe-3×4 SS NVMe
● M.2 (2280) 256 GB SATA-3 self-encrypting (Opal 2) MLC
● M.2 (2280) 256 GB SATA-3 TLC
● M.2 (2280) 240 GB SATA-3 MLC DS
● M.2 (2280) 180 GB SATA-3 self-encrypting (Opal 2) MLC
● M.2 (2280) 180 GB SATA-3 MLC
● M.2 (2280) 128 GB SATA-3 TLC
You can use 500GB, 1TB or 2TB. As you can se, it uses 2280 (22mm x 80mm)format therefore you can use STANDARD M.2 SSD drives.
