My laptop is no longer detecting my 1tb secondary hard drive. It started a few days ago. It was working fine the night before, I was editing a video together. The next morning, I opened my laptop to where I had all my important files and it tells me the location has been moved or it has been deleted. I checked file explorer and my D drive is gone. I'm not sure if the drive failed or not but if at all possible I'd like to know if there's a way to either fix the problem or recover my data. file explorer.PNG

First thought (had this happen to me years ago), open it up (then disconnect battery) and make sure the drive is seated properly to the connector.

If that doesn't work, find any diagnostic software from the drive maker (or HP if it was a factory drive) and run it to see if it is something repairable that way.
