Hey everyone, I have bought my laptop in 2nd of August 2020 and when it was new, I checked the battery health via the BIOS and HP Support Assistant since I like to know what health it and when it was new, it had 97% battery health and it said the battery was 3 months old. After 2 month, I notice the battery capacity was around 94% health and I didn't thought of much because I thought it was normal degredation so I didn't think of it much. Now it has been 3 months and it was now 89% and just today it went down to 88%. By the way, the battery cycles was on 83 cycle. I thought this was a big problem because my old laptop which is now 4 years old, and it has 72% battery health bear in mind the old one was always on strenuous loads since the old laptops prosessor is super underpowered that it always stays at 100% CPU Usage and the fan always went to max speed on the old one. The only strenuous load I have ever gave to my new laptop was editing one video with Davinci Resolve 16 and use geekbench or userbench with the battery power. I now do these stuff with the plug so I don't put the battery to strenuous loads. I have 9 months left on my 1 year warranty on my new laptop. I know this question was very long and I'm sorry if it was too long for you but I needed to say everything that happened to my new laptops battery because I am very worried about it and I don't want the capacity to go down a lot. Also, please read this all the way since I really want to know what to do.

Reinstall battery drivers

  • Right-click Start to open Device Manager, under Battery choose the battery device, then Driver tab, then if available Roll Back the driver. If not available, choose Uninstall Driver, restart PC to reinstall.
