I have a two+ year old HP Omen 17-an124cl, product no. 4SY16UA#ABA. Specs say it has a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C and 3 USB 3.1 ports. I expected the Thunderbolt port to be at least as fast as the USB 3.1 ports, however, tests copying a large file (40GB) to a Sandisk Extreme SSD indicate the Thunderbolt operates at about one tenth (40 MB/s) the speed of the USB 3.1 ports (355 MB/s)! What would cause this?
