Please can you post the actual fix? This is clearly causing problems for lots of people. Myself included.

Welcome to HP Support Community

 

I suggest you run an Audio Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality and let me know if you hear the static noise during the Test

 

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. 
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Audio

My laptop is now with John Lewis Tech services. I’m sure they’ll be sending it to HP this week. Several fixes and audio function tests were carried out in store to no avail. 

 

Ill update once it’s returned.
