HP ENVY x360 - 15-cn0001nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have an HP Envy x360 Convertible 15-cn0001nl. Since day 1, the top right corner of the keyboard (where the Numpad is) makes a buzzing/static/pop/crackling noises. This happens regularly, but the noises get more intense when scrolling a webpage or opening windows. I highly suspect it is a defective RAM module or SSD.

  • The problem occurs also with the AC adapter plugged in or not plugged in (battery).
  • No, it's not from the speakers. Test: Put the speaker on mute. Disabled Realtek Driver. No noise in headphones.
  • No, it is not from the fan. It happens even when the fan is turned OFF.
  • No, it's not from the hard drive. I have an SSD.

To hear the noise clearly, simply put your ear near the top part of the Numpad, and it intensifies when scrolling a web page or switching windows.

I have read online pretty similar cases but HP contacted privately the customer without writing what the problem could have been or how it has been solved.

Any comments/suggestions? The laptop is still in warranty.

I'm having the same issue with my Pavilion 14.

I tried to update the bios and some other solution but nothing changed.
