Product: HP 255 G6 Notebook PC

When I try to boot my laptop it 

just takes me to a diagnosing screen and then says ‘Repairing disk errors this might take over an hour to complete’. I have left it like this over night and run an extensive hard drive test which it has passed (both SMART and long DST say passed). I have no external devices connected. Am I going to have to replace my hard drive? Is there any chance of recovering the data on my device?
