HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 17-cd0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, ive just Purchased a HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 17-cd0xxx and would like to upgrade the RAM to 32GB (currently at 8GB). Can anyone suggest a brand (preferably with a link) that will work with this model. Asking as I do not fully understand which type of DDR4 I can use.

Thanks

Hi,

It does not really matter what the model number is, as in that series the notebook will have an Intel Core 9th gen CPU.

The max RAM for the notebook is 64GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM (2x32GB)

There are two slots, so you could go with 32GB (2x16GB) without any problem. You can buy from your preferred brand. I usually recommend Crucial since I use them a lot.

Example:

https://uk.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/pavilion-17-%2817-cd0001---17-cd0999-model...

On page 31 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade the RAM

Hope it helps,

David

Just pick 2666MHz RAM with the lowest latency (timings)
