Product: HP ENVY - 17t-ce100 CTO
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
I did a fresh install of Windows 11 and the only thing I found that is not working is the Synaptics fingerprint driver. It shows with error 31. I tried:
- Uninstalling the driver
- Deleting the driver
- Disabling and reenabling the driver
- Installing the driver from Windows Update
- Installing the driver with HP Support Assistant
- Installing the driver manually from HP website
- Installing the driver from the inf files
I had the driver working in an in-place upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 but after the clean Windows 11 install I can't find a way to get it working. I don't want to go back to Windows 10 but I used the fingerprint for easier authentication with login and some apps. I saw that the driver hasn't been updated in a while and maybe that could be the issue. I really don't know and also couldn't find a newer version of it.Device Manager - Error 31 Synaptics Driver
