I got a message in Windows Defender that TPM needed a firmware update, so I went out to the web and downloaded it.

In the Update Wizard I am asked for an Owner Password.

Owner PasswordOwner Password

Both TPM and BitLocker came already loaded on my EliteBook.  In other words, there is no way for me to know anything about an Owner Password.

Furthermore, BitLocker shows as "off" in Control Panel.

Please help me figure out how can I get past this Owner Password screen.

@elitebookblue

I assume you downloaded the TPM firmware from the HP Bulletin? If I am not mistaken- the wrong file is listed for your laptop. I am having someone check into it and it may be changed later.

It was very problematic to get that update applied on my machine.  No wonder.

If you could, please let me know when that SP file gets finally changed.  And I'll get a e-mail notice.

Thank you for alerting me to this.
