Hi @wallregion,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that your HP 15-ec2053ur laptop is intermittently switching to battery power even when the power adapter is connected, and battery diagnostics has returned the error code MC05A8-AQKCL3-MFPV5F-C75803. While the battery appears to be in a logical “OK” state, this behaviour may indicate a firmware or system-level issue.

We recommend performing a BIOS Restore, which can help resolve issues related to power detection and hardware communication. Please follow the steps below:

BIOS Restore:

1) Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in

2) Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.

3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.

4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Correction. Not a factory reset, but a BIOS restore
