My computer has a noticeable bump on it and I have concerns on why this is happening I rarely use my computer and I use it every now than again to play online games, my problem is I noticed the battery has a bump and could this be dangerous?

Likely because your battery is failing (swelling).  Remove back panel and confirm.  If your battery is bloated, replace at your earliest convenience.

 

Your HP EliteBook 745 G3 Notebook PC (L9Z80AV), as per: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04853478.pdf, requires this battery with p/n: 800513-001 "Battery (Primary) - 3-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), 4.08Ah, 46Wh (CS03XL-PL)".
