Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C inconsistencies when attaching HP G2 Dock, USB-C monitor

HP Recommended
HP EliteBook 840 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am getting inconsistent behavior from different devices attached to my laptop's Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C port.

Issue 1: I have two HP 120W Thunderbolt Dock G2s, one at work, one at home. Both have been updated to the most recent firmware using the G2 dock updater sp106102. One dock has a network cable, USB devices and two monitors connected. This dock will connect OK but the monitors will not turn back on when the computer wakes up from sleep. I need to disconnect and reconnect the dock for full functionality to get restored. The other dock will not connect consistently, period, and often isn't recognized as connected by the Thunderbolt  Software on the computer.

Issue 2: I have a LG 34CB99 monitor with a built in USB hub and USB-C (with power delivery) connectivity. When I plug the monitor in to my computer, sometimes it will function for a period of time (~30 minutes) then it will start disconnecting and reconnecting rapidly. Sometimes it immediately goes into the rapid disconnect/reconnect behavior as soon as it is plugged in. The monitor works fine when connected to another device.

Interestingly enough, at another desk, I have a Sabrent 2-Port USB Type-C KVM Switch w/ PD Option (USB-KCPD) that is connected to USB devices (keyboard and mouse) and a 4k monitor via HDMI. It connects to my laptop's Thunderbolt/USB-C port just fine with no issues.

I have attempted to use just about every method to make sure the drivers/software/firmware for my devices is up to date (HP Image Assistant, HP Support Assistant, Windows Update, Intel Driver and Support Assistant, LG Monitor FIrmware, etc.).

What else can I try to get my docks and monitor functioning, as intended?
