Product: OMEN Laptop 15-ek0120nd
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi,

I have a Thunderbolt G2 dock to connect my Omen Laptop to a monitor and network. This all works fine, except the charging of my Omen laptop. If I connect the laptop does not charge. I have also an Elite book and if I connect this one to the Thunderbolt, it does charge.

Any suggestions?

The specs of your Omen is

 

             https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06656440

 

It requires 200W PSU and the dock only gives 15W. It may charge your machine when OFF in 10 hrs or more. When the Omen is ON, the dock can't give enough power therefore machine have to use battery that why you can see anything.

 

For example: you have a bucket with 20L of water, it has a hole will drain water 5L each hour, and your pour 3L water to it each hour. You can see the bucket will never full.

 

Hope this makes sense.
