Microsoft Windows 11

I recently got Dell WD15TB dock and i have trouble connecting it via thunderbolt. PC is TB4 dock is TB3. I have HP 16-H1055CL. The display works fine via dock but USB devices and ethernet work only for 30 seconds and then they disconnect and dont come back. I have tried in BIOS High res display mode to enable and disable but it didn't change a thing. I'm wondering that mabye it is driver issue so what driver i need to reinstall?

Hello.

This does not sound like a driver problem at all, but there's no harm in updating your drivers either from the laptop's support page or with HP Support Assistant if you have it installed.

Can you try the dock with another computer? Or your computer with another dock?

Update your laptop BIOS.

Check the Dell website for WD15TB firmware updates. Check the dock's power supply connection and if you have a multi-meter, check that it outputs whatever voltage it is supposed to provide.

Hi

I managed to solve it but it still was strange. My friends with M series cpu MacBooks connected the dock with ease and they had no problems. I had to download bunch of drivers from dell and then the dock works when the cable is correct way in. I thought that USB C wouldn't have this problem and thunderbolt is plug and play but it works now.

Happy you got it working!

USB-C port is reversible and works in either orientation. If it doesn't, then the cable/dock, or the laptop port are faulty or dirty.
