Hi, one day I turned the pc on and I noticed the touchpad was very slow like if it had very low sensitivity. I checked in the settings and it was set to medium as allways. I also checked the cursor speed in the advanced settings and it was set to the middle of the bar as it has allways been. Even trying to max this two settings it still feels slow so something is definitely wrong. I tried to go back to a previous driver of the touchpad (automatically found by the system) but it was a 2006 version. It was back to normal speed but it didn't have all the functions like scroll with two fingers or change window with the three fingers slide. So I upgraded back to the latest driver available and the problem is still there. This happened to me a couple of times in the past (usually after the pc had been in stand by or ran out of battery) but it was solved letting the pc run out of battery and charging it back up. Once I turned it back on, the problem was gone. This time I tried it more than once but the problem doesn't go away.

@Ὀδυσσεύς Welcome to HP Community!
Here's all you need to fix this issue:
1. Click the Windows "Start" button and select “Control Panel.” Type “mouse” (without quotation marks) in the Search field at the upper-right corner of the window.
2. Click “Mouse” when it appears in the search results on the left.
3. Click the “Buttons” tab and move the “Double-click speed” slider under to the right until you’re satisfied with your double-click speed. You can test out the speed by double-clicking the folder icon to the right of the slider. The folder opens and closes in response to double-clicks.
4. Click “Apply” to make the changes permanent.
5. Click the “Pointer Options” tab and move the “Motion” slider to the right until your touchpad cursor operates at the speed you like. The Enhance Pointer Precision features increase cursor accuracy during slow movements. Check the box to enable this function.
6. Click the “Apply” button.
If the issue persists, Create a new user account and then check the above settings:

Thank you for your reply .@Riddle_Decipher .
As i wrote in my previous post i allready tried to take the speed of the cursor to the max level. It's faster but still not as before when I had medium settings. I tried to do what you said adding another account. It was set to the standard settings (all in the middle) and was still very slow.
I don't think it is a problem of settings. If I keep them as they have allways been, the touchpad is unbearably slow. If I set it to the max (speed and response), it is faster but still slower than when I had standard settings and no problem.
