Microsoft Windows 11

So as the subject suggests, I am on windows 11, and can't find drivers suited to my laptop with windows 11. Two finger scrolling does not work on my trackpad and I tried connecting ETD Properties with the ELAN Driver, but it isn't connecting. Tried many other things like uninstalling the driver and restarting the PC and downloading other drivers to see if they were compatible. But after doing so the PC stopped taking single tap and double tap inputs as well. Only after updating the driver did I get the single and double tap inputs back. But the main issue of two finger scrolling does not work. Please help me in this case.

Try the Elan Input device drivers for Windows 11 at the Microsoft Update catalogue. They are WHQL drivers.

Hey Erico, thanks for the reply. i'm sorry I'm replying to this very late.

I've downloaded the file but it is a cabinet file consisting of many files and many inf files as well. i'm not sure which one to use. Moreover i tried 2 but they aren't digitally signed and won't download for some reason. Could you help me with this?

In Windows 11

Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Touchpad > Scroll & zoom. Check the “Drag two fingers to scroll” option to enable two-finger scrolling

@Electro2876

You were supposed to double click on the downloaded driver software file, not extract it to a file.

That is how a driver is  generally installed to an operating system.

"but they aren't digitally signed " If you are downloading WHQL (Windows Hardware Qualified  Lab)drivers from a Microsoft server for a Windows version, they don't get more digitally signed than that.

Also, no I do not get options in the touchpad settings

I did not extract it. When I do double click on it, it just extracts it to the downloads folder. I'm sorry but you can call me a 'noob' for this. Also when I do extract the ETDI2C file or ETDcomponents file to the downloads folder and then use it to install the drivers it says it cannot. I cannot find the cabinet or zip file when I manually search for it in device managers.

Take a look at the video that I provided. It will explain how to install drivers manually.

I have bad news for you. It is a matter of the hardware.

Since your laptop was not supported for Windows 11 installation, this appears to be one of the limitations you face in installing and using Windows 11 as your OS.

This is not something that you can change.

As far as I am aware, your only other option would be to roll back to Windows 10 or source a Windows 11 capable replacement laptop.
