HP 15-gw0023od
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased (2) identical notebooks of the same model number.

(1) of the notebooks has USB 3.0 ports that function properly.

(1) of the notebooks has USB 3.0 ports that both fail.

I have utilized the available troubleshooter and online support diagnostics.

I have tried updating device drivers for all USB options in device manager tree.

I have tried disabling and re-enabling.

I have tried deleting all USB options and rebooting (yes they were re-installed on reboot)

I have tried known good wireless mouse and receiver is not recognized.

I have tried brand new wireless mouse and receiver is not recognized.

I have tried simply inserting a USB thumb drive with operational indicator light and it is not recognized.

(all of the above do work on first mentioned notebook with working ports)

Yes, the notebook is still under warranty although if there is a simple fix someone can point me toward, I would greatly appreciate not having to return it to the store.

Gurus, please share your expertise.

Hi@ChristiansPapi, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps

You have to install the AMD chipset drivers and restart the PC.

Use the second file listed on the webpage...
