Good evening. I have an HP EliteBook 1040 14-inch G10 laptop, and the two USB-C ports on the left work for charging but aren't working for data transfer. Can anyone help me fix this?

So you can use the Thunderbolt 4 ports for charging but can't plug in a USB flash drive and copy or download  data from the SSD or internet browser  to it?

Have you checked the Device Manager to look at the USB ports?

Have you reinstalled the chipset drivers and the Intel serial drivers?

Good morning, Erico. That's correct. It's not detecting USB drives or other devices for data transfer, etc., correctly. They only work in charging mode. I've already tried removing and updating the drives, and it's still the same. It's as if there's some kind of error with the Thunderbolt chip. Today, just in case, I tried updating the BIOS, and after updating and booting, I got an error with the Thunderbolt chip. Could it be that the motherboard is failing?
