Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

 

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

 

According to chapter 1 of the manual, you can install up to a 1 TB NVMe SSD and 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz memory.

 

I do not believe that PCIe Gen 4 SSD's will run at the Gen 4 speed.

 

According to the Intel processor specs for your notebook's processor, the chipset PCI express revision is 3.0.
