Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 8 GB DDR4-2666 SDRAM (1 x 8 GB) installed on the PC.
And your Supports up to 16 GB maximum system memory in the following configurations from the link: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06403450 refer to Table 1-1 Product components and their descriptions
