I am using HP Pavilion Gaming 15 bc408tx. It already have 8GB DDR4 SoDIMM 2400 MHz in one slot and other slot is empty.
I want to upgrade its memory. But the Maintenance and Service (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06325755) guide mentions that it supports up to 8 GB max system memory. But the operating system check inside Hp Support Assistant says that it has memory capacity of 32 GB.
What is the actual info? And what is the difference between system memory and expandable memory? Does the expandable memory refers to expandable SD card memory?? If I can upgrade the RAM memory then how much I can do?

Your "official" maximum is 2 x eight equals 16 gigs. DDR4-2666 SO-DIMM, which will downclock to 2400 speed. In truth, you can run 2 x 16 = 32 gigs.
You have already found the Service Manual. In this case it was badly prepared and incorrectly says 8 gb is the maximum.
With rear cover removed this is what it looks like inside:
2 memory slots to left of red oval
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

It means, if I need, I can use maximum 2 x 16 = 32 GB DDR4-2666 SO-DIMM, right?
I have selected these 3 RAM of Crucial, Can you help me selecting the compatible one?
