Hi,

It is not possible to replace the graphics chip in the notebook as it is soldered together with graphics subsystem to the motherboard.

The two graphics cards you linked to are for desktops.

However, you do have a Thunderbolt 3 port on the notebook, so you could use an external graphics card in appropriate housing such as the Omen Accelerator (or similar) when gaming on an external monitor.

Hope it helps,

David

There are 2 problems here:

  1. Firsttly: sorry all limks show cards for Desktops not laptops. Laptops use MXM cards even they have same models.
  2. Secondary. you can't replace video card on your machine, you have to buy the whole motherboard and CPU with new motherboard because they are soldered to the motherboard.

The series may have better CPU and GPU, why not buy other model ?

Regards.

I cannot find the Omen accelerator anywhere. Can someone recommend an HP approved solution to this issue that is current? I feel as though everything else is functioning well, but I need a dedicated graphics card for Photoshop/editing.

Thank you.

@Lechroy

Not all machines support Omen accelerator. What is the FULL model/product of your machine ?

@Banhien thank you - I have a HP Spectre x360 - 15t-bl100 CTO

I just can't find an Omen anywhere on the site and am looking at something like a Akitio Node with a GTX 1070 8GB card : https://www.akitio.com/thunderbolt3-series?gclid=CjwKCAjw2qHsBRAGEiwAMbPoDOgofXGvNMkkyDFA8fdJc0qIHi8...

I can install a full sized desktop card this way. Has anyone completed this process and used it for something like Photoshop/Adobe Premier or even ArcGIS? Thanks - Lech
