Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am working on an older machine for my neighbor.  I have been searching HP's site for the last couple of days and can't seem to find where they have hidden the specs that will tell me how much ram the machine will accept.  I know it only has a single slot with a 4GB 1Rx8 PC3L-12800s chip.  I am guessing that an 8GB chip should be ok, but would like to know if it would accept 16GB or if I would be wasting my money.

Model: 15-ay031cy

If anyone can point me to the correct documentation I would greatly appreciate the help.

Mike

One of the best sites to see current supported maximums is crucial.com . HP does not always update all documentation when support for memory or hard drives that were not originally shipped with the device.

If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution easier by giving kudos and marking my post as an accepted solution.
