I am trying to see if I can upgrade my processor 

 to 

 

  • 2-cores @ 2.7 GHz Processor or better or
  • 4-cores @  2.2 GHz processor or better or
  • i5 or better processor preferred

 

I appreciate any help anyone can give me with this.  Thanks!

Here is the highest processor your motherboard supports:

 

Intel Core i7-2640M 2.80 GHz (SC turbo up to 3.50 GHz), PGA processor (4.0 MB L3 cache, dual core, 35 W) 666173-001

 

Dual core, 2.8 ghz so seems to meet your requirements. 

 

Here's the Service Manual:

 

Manual

 

$40 for this processor is a great deal:
