Here is the Service Manual:

You do not really give us the full model number. If you have a 6th gen or higher Intel Core processor and the laptop uses DDR4 memory, then 2 x 16 = 32 gigs will work. The higher the processor generation, the more certain that is. You do not cause any harm by trying 32 gigs. Worst that happens is the laptop refuses to boot up and you take the 32 gigs out. If you can provide the full model number we can give you targeted advice like exactly what memory to buy, etc.

Hi Huffer, appreciate all your help. I have been looking at what is available online. I don't understand what is meant by form factor and which one is the correct one for me? Also how many pins should each module have? is PC4 -19200 (DDR4-2400) correct for me?

HP Recommended

The form factor is SO-DIMM. Small Outline dual inline memory module. In other words, laptop memory, If its DDR4 and its SO-DIMM laptop memory it is going to have the right number of pins.
