Hello,
I have an HP 15-AB516TX laptop and I want to upgrade my HDD to SSD. I heard about m.2 slot and wondering that my pavilion notebook has that slot or not since I unable to find the user manual of my laptop. If yes please suggest a suitable SSD for my laptop around 256GB to 512GB. If not I would like to replace my SSD with HDD with suitable model/SSD.
Since I want to upgrade my storage if I didn't have m.2 slot then I would like to use optical drive bay as secondary storage and would like to know the thickness of that bay so I get a proper caddy for the upgrading system.
Thank you.

YOu will need to open the notebook by removing the base enclosure to see if the slot is present. HP doe not state if all within a notebook model series have been supplied with an M.2 slot and screw.
See the remove and replace videos at the link below this line to see how you can investigate and see if there is one.

Here is a part locator for your notebookmodel series to help you see where one will be if it is present in your notebook.

The Maintenence & service guide for your notebook is below this line.

If the M.2 slot is present, you will need a M.2 SATA-3 (NGFF) SSD to upgrade.

As I mention my query as above and your reply is most likely useless no offense since there are various video stating the location of m.2 slot in a motherboard and able to identify by opening back of laptop? The reason I posted the query is that as I'm a student and I don't have the resource or tool to remove the back of a laptop and unable to determine the availability of slot. If I were to open the back I had to go to a technician which will cost me my time as well as money which is not worth without asking on a community if I were to get the answer without losing time and money. If there is really no way to determine without opening then please post as such and I appreciate your effort.
Thank you for your time.

You agreed to the rules of participation when you joined the forum. You are violating the rules with your insulting words. I suggest you keep comments like those in your mouth and not let them escape to poison an otherwise cviil discussion.
I suggested opening the base enclosure if the notebook because I, and others, unlike yourself, am aware that HP does not always include an M.2 slot even when documentation and videos show one as being present.
