I'm looking to get a new network adapter that is dual band but I'm not sure how to figure out compatibility. I checked what is currently installed "realtek RT3290" and i can see 2 cables (white and black) connected to it. Any suggestions on compatible replacements? I'd prefer internal over external I like having my USB slots to stay available.
Thanks

Hi:
Yes, you can upgrade to this model wifi card...
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part # 710661-001
You should be able to find the card on Amazon or eBay.
Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.
Before installing the card, uninstall the Ralink wifi and bluetooth adapters in the device manager and check the uninstall driver box.
If there is any Ralink bluetooth software in the windows control panel>programs, uninstall that too.
Shut down the PC and install the Intel card.
W10 should automatically install the drivers, and then you can get the latest ones from the Intel site.
