EliteBook 8460p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to upgrade the internal WiFi adapter in my EliteBook 8460p, and I've heard that certain HP models have a whitelist of acceptable cards. Based on my research, the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 will fit the card slot, but will the BIOS allow this card? I have the most recent version of the BIOS installed (F.67, 02/28/2018).

Hi:

Your notebook's model series does have a BIOS whitelist, so unfortunately the only wifi cards that will work are those listed in the service manual.

The 7260 AC card definitely will not work.

Since you have an EliteBook, no doubt you have the best wifi card that was available at the time.

Fair enough. Seems a bit unreasonable to lock down hardware like that, but I appreciate the response.
