HP 15-bs020wm

I want to know if it is safe to update the ram memory of my HP 15-bs020wm laptop which is 4gb, is it safe? And if it is safe, what kind of memory do I have to use? a DDR3 or DDR3L?

According to the maintenance and service guide http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04763947

The description for your unit is that it features a Pentium processor which means you are limited to 4 Gb maximum memory.

But I just looked for the specifications of my processor and it appears that the maximum memory that it can support is 8GB and of DDR3L type, and I found the information on the intel page. But is that correct? My processor is an intel pentium N3710
