Product: HP Pavilion 15z-aw000 CTO (ENERGY STAR)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Pavilion 15Z currently has 8 GB of ram.  I believe it has 2 memory slots.  Can a use a 4 GB and an 8GB module together to make 12 GB.

Sure. Use DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM and due to motherboard limits it will run at -1866 speed. Better to match modules but 8 + 4 will work, likely in single channel mode. 8 + 8 would be much better.
