I have the HP Spectre x360 13-ac052na and since I need to change the battery, I thought that I would also upgrade the storage at the same time.
The user manual sort of suggests that *maybe* there is a second slot (when you look down the product description in section one - there is a mention of an expansion slot), but I can't find any more information on it. https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05357578.pdf
The parts it lists for storage go up to 1TB (I currently have 512 GB) - does that mean that it wouldn't manage a 2TB storage drive? I see that it is "Solid-state drive (PCIe-3×4, NVMe solid-state drive supporting TLC)" and I could get a 2TB drive with to fit those specs, but unsure if it would work or not. Can anyone let me know? I'd be super grateful. This is the one I was considering: https://www.ebuyer.com/1426927-crucial-p3-2tb-m-2-internal-ssd-ct2000p3ssd8
I also saw some which were PCle Pro, but avoided those as it isn't what the manual suggested.
I hope this is not a stupid question - thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @Radiokate
This notebook can not be changed the memory is soldered to the motherboard. It has a single slot for M.2 NVME disk and you can put the size you want from 1 TB, 2 Tb or more.

Yes - I know I can't upgrade the RAM (sadly) - but how do I know that it can handle the 2TB SSD if in the manual it only suggests parts that go up to 1TB?
It doesn't say anything about the maximum capacity, but also doesn't list anything higher than the 1TB option - hence my question. But you reckon it would be okay?

there is no limit on SSDs are non-volatile memory chips, they are not mechanical HDD where mechanical parts can influence. what you see in the manual corresponds to how these laptops are marketed.
you can consult Crucial, a trusted HP supplier.
