Upgrading the HP Dv6t-6b00

[ Edited ]

Alright so, I have this laptop, traded it as I needed something more  mobile. I do have the leshcat drivers installed.

There are 5 things I'm going to upgrade.

Screen - 1366x768 15"
GPU - HD 6770m
CPU - - Intel Core i5 2430m Dual core
RAM - 6GBs
HDD - 600GB Hitachi

I need to know how exactly to get the screen, cpu, and GPU that will work in this. IF I have to replace the motherboard, how do I get that? Just need some help here. ^^ Also I'm having some overheating problems. How can I control the fan?

Re: Upgrading the HP Dv6t-6b00

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers that are all different. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.

The above requested information can be found on the bottom of the computer or in the battery compartment.

There are at least three different HP Pavilion dv6t-6b00 Notebook Computers from which to choose from. Here is the HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide for this series of computers. This guide lists all the various replacement components and their HP part numbers. The guide also has step-by-step disassembly instructions.

Please understand that these aren't user serviceable upgrades and the cost for a new screen, GPU (plus new systemboard that supports HD6490, HD6750, or HD6770 graphics), CPU, HDD, and RAM is going to far exceed the cost of a brand new computer with the same or better specs. Also note that your computer is two or more generations behind current technology. Do yourself a favor and purchase a new computer.
