I wants to add an SSD in my hp 15-ec0101ax. I know this model has the M.2 slot for SSD upgradation but i want to know that does my laptop supports 250 gb NVMe SSD with my HDD of 1TB 5400rpm.

Hi,
Yes, you can install an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD from your preferred brand and capacity and keep the Hard Drive for storage.
Something like the Samsung 970 Evo Plus would be great
On page 30 of service manual you can see the steps to install the drive

You will need to reinstall the OS on the SSD for the gain in performance. You can create a bootable pendrive directly from Microsoft to reinstall the OS
