I like to have a WWAN module backwards installed in my Elitebook 830 G8. The refurb shop tells me its not possible becouse they have to be mached preordered with the laptop ID number . Other wise any card of any brand will not work. Is this true? Is there a escape to make a mini sim do his or her work?

Chapter 1, page 3 of the service manual indicates that the notebook supports WWAN after market options.
I can't find any discussions where anyone has installed a WWAN card in the model series, so my advice to you would be to find and buy one of the actual WWAN cards that were offered in the model series that can be found in chapter 3 of the service manual.
Intel XMM 7360 LTE-Advanced (Cat 9) HP part # L70670-001
Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 LTE + 5G HP part # L83053-001
I see the Intel card listed on eBay.nd for €55.xx
The Qualcomm card can be found on the HP part store but it is out of stock and it is extremely expensive at €427.22.
That's too high of a price to take a gamble on.
Even €55 is pretty steep.

Thank you so much. Iam greatfull for your exelent reply. I mail the shop tomorrow your tips. Becouse they said it mostly does not work. Mostly for only hp own list of accepted motherboards pairing card numbers of the 830 edition. I hope hp dit not make their own cards accepted. I post result later.can take a while. I let the community here know.
