HP Pavilion G6 2313 AX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a hp laptop (HP Pavilion G6-2313AX) which I purchased in 2013 and been using since then with some issues with cooling, hard disk and battery which I faced after almost 5 years of usage and got repaired in a authorized service center in my city. (P.S. I mostly use my office laptop for work and rarely trouble this 🙂 ) The laptop is running very slow since 2 years - taking a long time to respond and hangs very often which is annoying for me to learn new programming or install construction tools..thus want to upgrade the hardware to improve the performance and speed. Please suggest me with good hardware specifications that are available in my country (INDIA), Pasting below is my current spec..

Windows 10 Home single Language (2019 Microsoft corporation)

Processor: AMD A10 - 4600M APU with Radeon (tm) HD Graphics 2.30 GHz

RAM: 4 GB

System type: 64 bit OS, x64-based processor

Thanks in advance!

-MK

Really slow performance, especially if there is lagging, is almost always an indication of a failing drive.

So, let's check that first, because if it is failing, it would need to be replaced and there is no point then in doing anything else until we confirm that.

If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the HDD (Hard Disk Drive): http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024

If not, to check the HDD you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu
3) Press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.

If the drive checks out OK, then report that and I can provide you options for reinstalling Windows on your PC.

Please note that if your model has an SSD instead of an HDD, these diagnostics might not work properly.
