i was wanting to upgrade the hard drive and ram in my laptop but I'm worried that doing that will void the warranty of my laptop which currently has 12 GB ram which i want to upgrade it currently has an 8 GB stick and a 4 GB stick of different brands of ram and only a 500 GB internal SSD with room for another drive that is unused i bought the computer pre configured and there is no easy access door to get to the ram from what i can see. Any advice would be great.

Warranty is a grey/gray area very hard to say in concrete. For new generation machines, adding something is a work for Authorized Service Provider parts . You can add yourself. If something went wrong due to this upgrade, I think HP would not honor warranty.
Hope this makes sense.
Regards.
