I did a hardware diagnostics test on my laptop. It showed that it failed to pass the long drive self test and asked me to contact HP support. so since my warranty expired, they wouldnt tell me how to fix it or what the specific problem is. They only tell me that my warranty has expired offering no help at all. Is it okay to post my test ID and the failure ID here. so atleast i could get some help.

Yes you can post that information.  Just don't post the serial number of your notebook.
