Hi @JSI56,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The terms "HP Bundled Warranty" and "HP Care Pack" refer to different types of warranty and support services provided by HP for our products. Here's a breakdown of each and the differences between them.
HP Bundled Warranty
Standard Coverage: This is the default warranty that comes with the purchase of an HP product. It covers hardware issues and defects that arise under normal use conditions.
Types of Service:
- Factory Warranty: Basic warranty covering hardware maintenance and repairs, typically involving sending the device to an HP service center.
- HP Support for Initial Setup: This is an additional support service aimed at helping customers set up their new HP device, ensuring it runs smoothly from the start.
Duration and Coverage: The duration and specific terms can vary by product and region, but typically it covers a period of 1 year from the date of purchase. This coverage includes repair or replacement of defective parts and possibly technical support.
HP Care Pack
Extended and Enhanced Coverage: HP Care Packs are optional, extended warranty services that customers can purchase separately. They offer enhanced levels of support and services beyond the standard warranty.
Types of Service:
- HWM Onsite (Hardware Maintenance Onsite): This service means that if there is a hardware issue, an HP technician will come to the customer's location to perform repairs, rather than the customer needing to send the device to a service center.
Customizable Plans: HP Care Packs can be customized based on the customer's needs, including extended coverage periods (up to several years), accidental damage protection, and priority service levels.
Additional Benefits: These packs often include additional services such as expedited repair services, data recovery, and sometimes software support.
Change from "Care Pack" to "Bundled Warranty"
The change from "Care Pack" to "Bundled Warranty" in your support options likely indicates a shift in the type of warranty coverage you have. It might suggest that your device is now only covered by the standard bundled warranty rather than the additional enhanced coverage provided by a Care Pack. If you had previously purchased a Care Pack, it could be an administrative change or update in how HP categorizes or lists our warranty services.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you very much for the perfect explanation.
Based on this explanation, I came to the conclusion that what HP did was not a generous gesture but a fraud on the customer.
That customer had major problems with the hardware they purchased, which resulted in it being out of service for 2 months during the warranty period. As compensation, HP offered to extend the warranty by 6 months, while therefore reducing the warranty level from the Care Pack level to the Bundled Warranty level by 4 months.
