Hello everyone,

I have a question about my laptop/notebook

I have an NVIDIA graphics card ( Geforce 840M ). Well, I've read somewhere that it's better to update via the manufacturer's website rather than the NVIDIA website if you're using a laptop.

I've tried looking here, but the latest driver is from Aug. 2015, is this correct?

The ones on NVIDIA website are way more recent. ( Latest being begin this month, May.2017 )

What's the best thing to do?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

It is recommended to perform the updates from the HP websites as and when they're released. If you're facing any issues with the video card and it required an update and you do not find an updated version on the HP website, that's when you may look for the update on the manufacturer's website.

Yes, the last graphics card update for the NVIDIA GeForce 840M was released on Aug 5, 2015 (version: 10.18.13.5350 Rev.A)

If you are facing any issues with the existing video card drivers then please go ahead and update the relevant drivers from the Nvidia website.

Please feel free to reach out to me for any further help. I'm always here to assist you. Cheers! 🙂
