Hi @Rohit2712,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your HP Pavilion laptop's battery charging and reporting. When you charge the battery to a certain percentage (e.g., 90%), it remains stuck at that level even after disconnecting the charger. This could be due to several factors, and I'll outline some possible causes and solutions.

Battery Calibration Issue: Sometimes, the battery calibration can become inaccurate, leading to incorrect reporting of the battery level. To recalibrate the battery, follow these steps:

a. Charge your laptop to 100% while it's powered off.

b. Once fully charged, turn on the laptop and let it discharge naturally.

c. Use your laptop until it automatically shuts down due to low battery.

d. After it shuts down, leave it off for a couple of hours.

e. Plug in the charger and let it charge back up to 100% while the laptop is still powered off.

This process can help recalibrate the battery and may resolve the inaccurate reporting issue.

Battery Driver or BIOS Update: Outdated battery drivers or BIOS firmware could cause battery-related problems. Check the HP support website for your laptop model and see if there are any updates available for battery-related drivers or BIOS. If there are updates, download and install them as they may contain bug fixes and improvements.

Battery Health: Over time, laptop batteries lose their capacity to hold a charge, and their health decreases. If the battery is old or has been heavily used, it may no longer accurately report its current capacity. In such cases, replacing the battery could be a solution.

Battery Monitoring Software: Some third-party battery monitoring software or battery optimization tools may interfere with the battery's reporting. Try uninstalling any such software and check if the issue persists with the default battery management tools provided by the operating system.

Operating System Issues: In some cases, the operating system itself may cause inaccuracies in battery reporting. Ensure your operating system is up to date with the latest patches and updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
