Hello, could an Angel give me an information about my laptop ? it is a HP Laptop 14s-fq0197 and I cant find what SSD I should buy to upgrade, it is a EMMC 64gb but it has a M.2 Port available, I.ve tried to buy a Crucial plus 1tb but it didnt work! maybe a sata ssd may work. could someone please tell me what SSD I can use to upgrade a HP Laptop 14s-fq0197 EMMC 64gb ? thanks !!

for the type of processor (AMD 3020e) can not support NVME, maybe the SATA, but I'm not sure that the M.2 slot is active.

The M.2 slot in all mode 14s-fq0xxx notebooks with the 64 GB eMMC flash storage drive is active to support a M.2 SATA SSD only.

 

It can only be used for storage as the notebook will not boot from the M.2 SSD.

 

Perhaps a program like Clover Bootloader could get the drive to work, but I don't know that for sure and I have never used the software before.

 

Folks use it for older PCs to boot from a M.2 NVMe SSD placed in a desktop PC's PCIe x 4 or x 16 slot.

Bot look… the connection port seen to be for a Nvme, I’ve tried one from Crucial but didn’t work or show up in my CMD as a working ship, could you please see if I can connect a SATA SSD here? thanks

The M.2 ports for NVME and SATA are the same, the difference is that with a SATA disk there is a pin without contact.
