HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0101ax
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

 2HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec0101ax, i bought this laptop 1 week  back.

System hangs  with few chrome web tabs itself.

also when checked RAM instead of 8 GB - it is showng 5.9 GB in task manager and out of this 2.5 GB around used always without any application open(hope 2.5 is for windows)

so left with 2.4 GB for all my work is bad. first why the 8GB showing as 5.9.

can i change it, also if i upgrade RAM myself will my warranty get void?

Hi:

Your notebook was engineered/designed that way on purpose.

HP released this document a while back, which explains the memory shortage...

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06526774

This seems to only apply to models with AMD Ryzen processors.

Info on Microsoft PlayReady.

The only solution would be to install more memory.

Since this is a peer to peer forum, we cannot reply on behalf of HP regarding specific warranty terms and conditions.

If you look at chapter 5 of the service manual, it shows that replacing the memory, hard drive, and a few other components are authorized customer actions.

Bear in mind that if you break something during the process of doing any work inside the notebook, you will most likely void the warranty.
