HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fc0000 (733M2AV)

I’m experiencing an issue with my laptop where the Wi-Fi connection drops a few minutes after unplugging the power supply, and even if I reconnect, it disconnects again after a few minutes.

Hi @Alper11,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

The issue you're experiencing with your HP 15.6-inch Laptop PC 15-fc0000 (733M2AV) seems to be related to power management settings affecting the Wi-Fi adapter when the laptop is running on battery. Here are some steps to help resolve the problem:

1. Adjust Power Management Settings for Wi-Fi Adapter:

  • Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Network adapters and find your Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Realtek, Intel).
  • Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and select Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab.
  • Uncheck the option “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.”
  • Click OK to save the changes.

2. Change Power Plan Settings:

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings.
  • Click on Change plan settings next to your active power plan.
  • Click on Change advanced power settings.
  • Expand Wireless Adapter Settings > Power Saving Mode.
  • Set both "On battery" and "Plugged in" to Maximum Performance.
  • Click Apply and OK.

3. Update or Reinstall the Wi-Fi Driver:

  • Go to Device Manager and find your Wi-Fi adapter.
  • Right-click and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers to let Windows find and install the latest drivers.
  • If this doesn’t work, you can try uninstalling the driver and then restarting your laptop. Windows will automatically reinstall the correct driver.

4. Disable USB Selective Suspend:

  • Open Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Click on Change plan settings for the active plan.
  • Go to Change advanced power settings.
  • Find USB settings > USB selective suspend setting and set it to Disabled.
  • Click Apply and OK.

5. Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates:

  • Visit the HP Support website and enter your laptop's model number.
  • Check if there is an available BIOS/UEFI update for your laptop. If so, download and install it, as it might contain fixes for power management and connectivity issues.

6. Perform a Network Reset:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  • Scroll down and select Network reset.
  • Follow the prompts to reset your network settings, and restart your laptop.

You may also refer to this document for more information.

After completing these steps, monitor if the Wi-Fi connection remains stable when unplugged from the power supply. If the issue persists, there could be a hardware problem with the Wi-Fi adapter or a deeper software conflict.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
