HP Laptop 14q-cs0029tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently purchased this laptop. I believe that it contains a slot to add a HDD or SSD. I already have a M.2 PCIe 256GB SSD pre-installed. I want to add the Samsung V-NAND SSD 860 EVO 250 GB on this device. I want to know 1) Is the Samsung 860 EVO drive compatible, and 2) If I add this drive on my own will it void the warranty. Please do let me know. Thanks in advance.

Warranty is a grey/gray area very hard to say in concrete. For new generation machines adding something is a work for Authorized Service Provider parts . You can add yourself. If something went wrong due to this upgrade, I think HP would not honor warranty.

Hope this makes sense.

Hi Banhien,

Thank you for your reply!

1) Can you also tell me if the Samsung V-NAND SSD 860 EVO 250 GB is compatible with HP notebook model no.: 14q-cs0029tu. Specifically, will it support the M.2 256 GB SSD and the above mentioned SSD simultaneously. I went through the support material it seems to have the slot.

2) I will try and call HP support for specific answer on the warranty.

Regards,
