HP Notebook - 15-bs662tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello Team and Forum,

I have HP HP Notebook - 15-bs662tu, due to lockdown in my region I can't access to my laptop since last 6 months, it is somewhere where I cant go and bring it now and maybe for further 6-7 months, I will not be able to bring my laptop to my place. The laptop is shut down since then, MY CONCERN IS: is there will be any problem related to hardware, software or anything if I don't operate my laptop for 8-12 months? If yes, kindly tell, and if no, then up to how months there won't be any problem? Kindly tell in detail. I hope I will get my query solved soon.

Thank you in advance!

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

To get the answer to this question, firstly your operating system will not have any updates released these 10-12 months.

And, also your battery will be completely drained you may need to charge it for few hours.

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

Hard Reset: Follow steps from the link: https://hp.care/2GnkMa8. (do not skip any troubleshooting steps even if you feel steps are repeating)

BIOS default:

  1. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  2. Press the Power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS setup menu.
  3. On the BIOS Setup screen, press F9 to select and load the BIOS Setup Default settings.
  4. Press F10 to Save and Exit.
  5. Use the arrow keys to select Yes, then press Enter when asked Exit Saving Changes?
  6. Follow the prompts to restart your computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
