860-160se
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I was just wondering if upgrading my graphics card from a GTX 970 to a GTX 1080 would void the care pack of my 860-160se. If the warranty is not voided, is there anything that I need to know about upgrading a graphics card; relating to the "Secure Boot" feature of HP products. I was also wondering if the standard 500W power supply can handle the 1080. The basic specs of my PC are a i7-5930K ; GTX 970 ; 4x 8GB  Samsung 2133MHz. Thanks in advance!

Hi @_MiKz_,

I hope you enjoy your visit to the HP Support Forums. I understand you question about upgrading the video card. I will be glad to help you.

Change the video card does not void the warranty, but HP only covers the parts install at the time of purchase. Any driver update would have to come from Geforce.

The computer has 500W power and that is the recommended system power (W)4 for the GTX 1080.

Here is a Youtube video to How to Replace a Video Card and Configure Settings.
