Hello
I have problem with shut down / sleep / reboot after adding new HDD (instead of DVD mechanics).
Recently I cloned my system from HDD to SSD (excluded HP recovery and HP tool partition). At first, I swapped new SSD with old HDD which I put into docking station (so, I had new SSD and DVD in notebook, old HDD in docking station). Everything was working without problem - system was booting from SSD, data were stored at old HDD, etc. Then I bought Icy Box adapter for DVD bay, removed DVD mechanics and put there my old HDD from docking station and the problem started. System is working fine except attempt to restart/shut down/sleep ntb when it ended with black screen every time although system shut down properly. It just wont turn off completely. The only solution is removing HDD from DVD bay (and put it back to docking station).
I tried windows update, DISM, SFC, fast boot is disabled... What I didnt try yet is to isolate one pin on SATA connector like suggested here:[edit]
But it is 7 years old thread so I hope that this problem can be solved in another way. Bay adapter from another manufacturer has a little switch for this issue, but Icy Box doesnt...
Can someone help me with this? Thanks in advance

Ehm.. I will respond to myself, because maybe there are more blind people like me 😄
At the end, even if it is not mentioned in adapter user manual (and even if I looked for it there), there is one small switch which that has to be switched to middle position.... So many hours of trying and cursing could be saved by one simple sentence in manual (or better sight)... I discovered it this morning when I removed HDD from adapter and wanted to put there SSD instead.
